Coming soon to Bravo: Buds, the reality show where they really did come here to make friends. Our contestants are not that young, not that hot, and not that horny: they’re just trying to form meaningful friendships over the age of thirty. No, they don’t all live together in a house: that would be cheating. In real life you live in your normal apartment and you still have to meet your normal obligations—work, feeding your cat, calling your mom, making dinner for your boring partner—and so, too, our unfortunate contestants. Can they find the time, wherewithal, and worthy subject to make that beautiful friendship alchemy happen? Find out on Buds.
At first, I was writing that tongue-in-cheek, but my tongue has migrated back to its station: I would totally watch this show. Bravo execs who are reading this column, hit me up.
Anyway: this week’s entrée is about friends.
Dear Sofia,
Why can't I make female friends? I'm a woman and have plenty of great male friends, but can't seem to relate well to women. It makes me sad, because I feel like I'm missing out on being a part of the ~sisterhood~.

I’m not going to pressure you, but if you like/comment/share/etc., it makes me feel like a big shot and I walk around all day hitching up my suspenders, adjusting my monacle, and taking very long strides.
My favorite part of these emails is the cartoons. My other favorite part is the advice. Also, my favorite part is getting a notification on my phone that says "You're doing great". Thanks, I needed that. I needed all 3 of that.
Love your writings! You’re truly doing great!
