Advising you on getting jacked would be like advising Arnold Schwarzenegger on getting pumped up, Steven King on writing scary books, or Aretha Franklin on being legendary. I bow down to your jackdom.

My advice for someone that actually wants to get JACKED if you are just starting out focusing on just being at the gym, don't over work yourself for about 4-8 months. Then you can start looking into a program or building your own and trying things to improve. Best of luck!!

Casey Johnston is an awesome resource for weightlifting (at any level)! She used to write a column, Ask A Swole Woman, for I think the Hairpin, and now she has a newsletter, She's A Beast. She even has a program that is like couch to 5k but for learning to lift :)
